Christmas is over...where do we put our tree???




Christmas is over, it's warm outside, lights are put up, ornaments back in the attic...now what the heck do you do with your Christmas tree?! There are multiple options around town to recycle your tree at no cost. .


For all of the recycling options, please ensure all ornaments, tinsel, decorations and tree stands are fully removed from the tree.


Richmond County


Augusta Solid Waste - Set your live Christmas tree by your trash pickup before 6 am on your regular trash pickup day during the first 2 full weeks of January and Augusta Solid Waste will pick it up free of charge.


Dumpster Depot - On January 4th trees will be collected at James Brown Arena from 10 am - 2 pm to be used as fish habitats.


Columbia County


US Army Corps of Engineers - Trees can be dropped off at Riverside Middle School in Evans through January 8th to be used for the ecosystem at Thurmond Lake.


Home Depot - Bring your trees by to be turned into mulch. Mulch will be available on a first come, first serve basis.


Aiken County


North Augusta Disposal - Set your trees out to be collected curbside between January 6 - 9. They will be collected to be turned into mulch.


Dumpster Depot - On January 4th trees will be collected at their Aiken location at 2063 University Parkway to be used as fish habitats.
