12 Things to do in Augusta this Weekend August 24-26


Art at Lunch - Friday - Discuss a work of art by Horace Day while enjoying a catered lunch. 12 - 1:30 PM at the Morris Museum of Art. Cost is $12 members, $16 non-members.

Baseball Weekend - Friday, Saturday, Sunday - Grab a ticket for the Augusta GreenJackets and enjoy something special each night. Friday night Bobblehead Giveaway, Saturday is 90's night with Fireworks, Sunday is Auggie's Birthday Bash & Bark in the Park. Tickets start at $8.

Best Buddies Adoption Event - Saturday - Stop by Petsense in Grovetown to see all the pets available for adoption with Best Buddies Rescure. 10 AM - 2 PM.

Candlelight Music - Sunday - Bring a picnic and blankets/chairs and enjoy an evening of live music at the Augusta Common. 7:30 PM. Cost is $8.

Creek Exploration Class - Saturday - Kids 5 - 15 can explore the creek at Reed Creek Nature Park with hands on activities that might get you wet and muddy! 10 - 11:30 AM. Registration is required.

Layer Cake Class - Saturday - Learn the tip and techniques to building the perfect layer cake. 11 AM - 3 PM at Great Bakes in Grovetown. Reservations required.

KidFest - Saturday - Interactive stations for kids ages 2 - 12! 10 AM - 2 PM at Evans Towne Center Park. Cost is $5 advance and $10 at the door.

Really Cool Reptiles - Saturday - Kids 5 - 15 can meet and learn about the reptiles at Reed Creek Nature Park. 1 - 2 PM. Free class but registration is required.

Snocap Cruise In & Anniversary Celebration - Saturday - Check out the cool cars and celebrate 54 years at Snocap in North Augusta. 6 - 8 PM.

Spanish Film Series - Saturday - Showing of Spanish language films at the Augusta Library on Telfair. 1:30 - 4:30 PM. Free Event.

The Big Dam Full Moon Paddle - Saturday - Coast down the river from the dam to Riverside Park with a guided tour. The float will take place at 7:30 PM but your boat will need to be shuttled to the dam prior to that time. Food available at the dam. Cost is $10 for the ride if you have your own kayak or $35 for single kayak and $45 for double.

Wine Tasting Seminar - Friday - Learn about and taste10 wines from Portugal. 7 PM at Wine World in North Augusta. $30 paid reservation, $35 at the door if space available.
