12 Things to do in Augusta this Weekend July 6-8


Beginner's Chess for Kids - Saturday - Kids can learn to play chess in a free class at the Children's Department in the Augusta Public Library on Telfair. 10:30 AM - 12 PM. Free Event.

Boom! 4ever: A fine art exhibition - Friday - Free public reception at the 600 Broad Gallery presented by 4P Studios & The Augusta Regional Collaboration. 7 - 9 PM. Free Event.

First Friday Drop-In Wine Tasting - Friday - Stop by Wine World in North Augusta between 5 and 8 PM to taste 6 wines from around the world. Cost is $5.

Friday Summer Fun - Friday - Kids can paint Gourds at Mistletoe State Park as part of their Summer Family Fun program. 12:30 - 2 PM. Cost is $3 per kid and $5 parking.

Grand Opening Party AR Workshop Evans - Saturday - Stop by for the kick off party for AR Workshop in The Market at Riverwood. 4 - 7 PM. Giveaways, raffles, snacks, mini DIY project, tours and more! Free Event.

Hamiltunes - Friday - Sing along to music from Hamilton. All ages can sing the night away at the Augusta Library on Telfair from 5:30 - 8:30 PM. Free Event.

Improv Comedy - Friday - First Friday improv at Schrodinger's Cat at 10 PM. Buy your tickets in advance as it often sells out.

Musical Movies - Friday - Watch a free screening of a family-friendly musical at Diamond Lakes Branch Library at 12 PM.

Soldier Valley Spirits Sampling - Friday - Take a tour to learn about the brand and try some samples of vodka and whiskey from Soldier Valley Spirits at Fort Gordon. 3 - 6 PM.

SRBC Weekend Beer Yoga - Saturday - Hour yoga class for all skill levels at the Savannah River Brewing Co. 11:30 AM. Cost is $16 for class and a pint.

Stallings Island Paddle - Saturday - Take a guided group tour to Stallings island with a stop to feed the donkeys and goats. 9 AM - 12 PM at the Savannah Rapids Pavilion. Cost is $20 if you bring your own kayak, $50 for tour and kayak, $25 for kids 12 and under.

Vacation Movies - Friday - Watch free screenings of The Jungle Book at 10:30 AM and Mary Poppins at 3 PM at Nancy Carson Library. Free Admission, bring your own refreshments.
